I was going to write a post today featuring another rant, this time about protein, but then I lost an hour due to daylight savings time, had to feed the kitties, organize an outing with friends to go for a walk…so I’ll put it off until later.
Instead, I decided to blog about procrastination. 🙂
Before I put this blog post too off for later, I would have to say that procrastination is my among my biggest obstacles. It still doesn’t defeat that awesome beast known as “disorganization”, but that beast is mostly tamed due to Chalean’s online 30 Days to Push course. Although, from time to time, it sometimes rips up the carpet and the arm on my couch….
Anyhow. I’ve found that keeping a to-do list helps with procrastination, time management, and organization. To defeat this evil beast (and gain 5,000 xp), you need to tackle your biggest, ugliest, most loathsome tasks first. This could be doing the dishes, cleaning the litterbox, taking out the garbage, working out…whatever you dread doing the most and are more than likely to put off or make excuses not to do initially. Just DO IT. Do it, do it, do it…and get it off your to-do list once and for all. Then you tackle whatever is its not-quite-as-bad-and-ugly little brother, and perhaps a few of its nicer looking cousins.
I’m happy to say that I’ve gotten a lot done this morning and afternoon so far, but it took a lot of ugly beast elimination. But hey, that means that after my walk with friends this afternoon, supermarket run, Chalene Extreme workout, and a conference call I have time for World of Warcraft. 🙂
